I was first introduced to yoga in 1999, when my mother encouraged me to attend a class with her.  My passion for yoga has only deepened since I first arrived on mat.  I found the movements and breath natural, and began to find that embracing the present moment encouraged healing, growth, and peace.

By 2003 I felt guided towards teaching yoga & spreading the benefits of yoga and wellness.  I graduated from Saint Michael’s College with a B.A. in Psychology in 2004.  I studied with Jacqueline Heisel, through Frog Lotus Yoga for my 200 Hour Yoga Teacher certification, and studied with Dave Emerson through The Trauma Center at JRI to teach Trauma-Sensitive yoga and am Level 1 certified in Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy.  I studied Thai Massage in Chiang Mai, Thailand and am Level 1 Reiki attuned through Marybeth McKinnon (a Traditional Reiki Master).  My style of teaching is compassionate, authentic, light hearted, and intuitive.  I encourage students to draw their awareness inward and listen to the messages of the body.  I teach with a sense of balancing effort with ease, blending the physical with the gentle aspects of yoga.  In each class, I work to bring balance into all the systems of the body, including mind and spirit, so they function in harmony with each other.  I have been instructing weekly Hatha, Vinyasa, Gentle, Prenatal and Mommy & Baby classes to students of all ability levels, and also really enjoy teaching Partner yoga.

Last year I received my Level 2 certification to teach Yamuna Body Rolling.  I am fascinated by how we all develop patterns and restrictions in our bodies.  The work with Yamuna Body Rolling is all about freeing those restrictions by stimulating bone first, and working to lengthen and tone muscles from origin to insertion.  This work brings awareness to our patterns of how we move, breathe, and experience life.  I enjoy customizing private Yoga/Yamuna Body Rolling sessions to meet the needs of the individual I work with.
